Electric Vehicle (EV) Passenger Segment

Reports To: DCEO

Position Summary

The Business Unit Head – EV Passenger Segment will be responsible for leading and managing the overall business operations of the Electric Vehicle Passenger Division, including sales, business development, profitability, market expansion, and operational excellence. The role requires strong exposure to EV business operations, charging ecosystem, dealership management, customer experience, and strategic business growth within the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the overall EV Passenger Vehicle business operations and drive sustainable business growth.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with organizational goals and market demands.
  • Drive revenue generation, profitability, and market share expansion for the EV segment.
  • Identify market opportunities, emerging EV trends, and customer requirements to strengthen business performance.
  • Lead dealership network expansion and business development initiatives across assigned regions.

Sales & Market Development

  • Oversee end-to-end sales operations of EV passenger vehicles.
  • Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Develop market penetration strategies to strengthen brand presence in the EV sector.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and industry developments within the EV market.
  • Support marketing campaigns, promotional activities, product launches, and customer engagement initiatives.

EV Business & Operational Management

  • Possess strong understanding of EV ecosystem including charging infrastructure, battery technology, range management, and EV customer behavior.
  • Coordinate with OEMs regarding EV product planning, operational standards, and business growth strategies.
  • Ensure proper implementation of EV operational standards across dealerships and sales channels.
  • Work closely with service and technical teams to ensure smooth aftersales support and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive EV awareness initiatives and customer education programs regarding EV technology and ownership experience.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Manage business unit profitability, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Monitor business performance reports, operational KPIs, and sales analytics.
  • Ensure efficient inventory planning and operational resource management.
  • Implement business improvement strategies to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Build a high-performance and customer-focused work culture.
  • Identify training and development requirements for teams related to EV products and future mobility solutions.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide strategic direction to departmental managers and team leaders.

Stakeholder & OEM Management

  • Maintain strong coordination with OEMs, dealers, vendors, financial institutions, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in strategic business meetings and industry-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to EV operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in automobile sales and operations with strong leadership exposure.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of direct exposure in Electric Vehicle (EV) business operations.
  • Strong understanding of EV market trends, charging infrastructure, battery technology, and EV customer lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in dealership operations, business development, and strategic planning.
