Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Revenue Growth

Finding and securing new business is the primary commercial responsibility of this role.

• Identify and develop new revenue opportunities across all five pillars — new platforms, new markets, new licensing categories, and new commercial models.

• Build and negotiate partnerships with DSPs, telecom operators, broadcasters, film producers, OTT aggregators, brands, and corporate sponsors.

• Expand RBT and digital distribution agreements with telecom operators; improve commercial terms with existing partners.

• Develop a pipeline of sync, movie, and reality show licensing deals to grow Music Nepal’s licensing revenue.

• Identify and close new commercial studio bookings for Studio A, Studio B, and MNAV post-production.

• Drive content partnerships and subscriber growth initiatives for the MOMO OTT App.

• Continuously explore new digital business models and emerging platforms that can generate revenue for Music Nepal.

• Evaluate all new revenue opportunities against commercial viability and expected ROI before committing resources.

2. Brand Strategy & Positioning

The Manager is the custodian of Music Nepal’s brand — responsible for defining how the company and each of its pillars are positioned in the market.

Overall Brand Positioning

• Define and maintain Music Nepal Limited’s overarching brand identity — what the company stands for, how it is perceived, and how it differentiates in the market.

• Develop a unified brand architecture that clearly positions Music Nepal as Nepal’s leading music and entertainment company across all touchpoints.

• Ensure brand consistency across all five pillars, the Promotion Team’s outputs, digital platforms, physical materials, and partner communications.

• Conduct annual brand health reviews; assess market perception, audience sentiment, and competitive positioning, and adjust strategy accordingly.

Pillar-Level Brand & Positioning

• Define the distinct positioning of each business pillar — ensuring Audio Distribution, Video Distribution, YouTube CMS, Recording Studio, and MOMO OTT each have a clear market identity that reinforces the parent brand.

• Develop go-to-market positioning for MOMO OTT to differentiate it from competing streaming platforms in the Nepali market.

• Position Music Nepal’s Recording Studios and MNAV as the premium destination for artists and producers in Nepal.

• Develop a consistent positioning narrative for Music Nepal’s licensing and distribution services targeted at film producers, broadcasters, and content creators.

Cross-Pillar & Co-Branding

• Identify and develop co-branding and cross-promotional opportunities between pillars — e.g. studio artists promoted on MOMO OTT, YouTube CMS content tied to DSP releases, RBT campaigns aligned with music video drops.

• Develop partnership branding guidelines for joint campaigns with DSPs, telecom operators, broadcasters, and corporate sponsors.

• Ensure all co-branded content and communications reflect Music Nepal’s brand standards and protect the company’s reputation.

3. Promotion Team — Oversight & Direction

Team Leadership & Direction

• Set the promotional agenda and campaign calendar for the Promotion Team aligned to pillar priorities, release schedules, and commercial objectives.

• Brief the Promotion Team on campaign goals, target audiences, key messages, and success metrics for every major initiative.

• Review and approve all major campaigns, creative directions, media plans, and promotional materials before execution.

• Hold the Promotion Team accountable to campaign delivery timelines, budgets, and performance outcomes.

• Conduct regular team reviews; develop team members’ skills in campaign management, digital marketing, and content promotion.

Digital Marketing & Audience Growth

• Oversee the Promotion Team’s execution of digital marketing campaigns across social media, paid advertising (Meta, Google, TikTok), SEO/SEM, email, and content marketing.

• Set audience growth targets for Music Nepal’s owned digital channels — social media, YouTube, MOMO OTT — and hold the Promotion Team accountable for achieving them.

• Ensure data and analytics are used to drive all promotional decisions; review performance reports and direct the team to optimise underperforming campaigns.

• Oversee influencer and artist marketing programmes as part of the broader promotional strategy.

Campaign Management Across Pillars

• Oversee integrated promotional campaigns for new music releases, RBT launches, YouTube content drops, reality show premieres, movie licensing announcements, studio service campaigns, and MOMO OTT content releases.

• Ensure campaigns are coordinated across pillars where relevant — creating cross-pillar promotional moments that amplify reach and impact.

• Manage relationships with PR agencies, media partners, and external creative vendors on behalf of the Promotion Team.

• Ensure all promotional activities are measured; require post-campaign reports from the Promotion Team after every major campaign.

Media, PR & Public Presence

• Oversee Music Nepal’s media and PR strategy — ensuring the company maintains a strong, positive presence across broadcast, digital, and print media.

• Approve press releases, media statements, and public communications issued on behalf of Music Nepal.

• Represent Music Nepal at key industry events, partner meetings, media engagements, and public forums.

• Manage reputational issues and crisis communications in coordination with senior leadership.

4. ROI & Commercial Performance Measurement

The Manager is accountable for ensuring that every commercial investment across all five pillars and the Promotion Team delivers a measurable return.

• Own the commercial performance dashboard across all five pillars — tracking revenue, costs, and returns on a monthly basis.

• Evaluate the ROI of distribution deals, licensing agreements, studio investments, OTT content acquisitions, and promotional campaigns before and after execution.

• Define clear ROI targets and success metrics for every major campaign and commercial initiative before resources are committed.

• Use data to make go / no-go decisions on platform investments, campaign budgets, content commissions, and partnership renewals.

• Identify low-performing investments across pillars and the Promotion Team; redirect budgets and resources to higher-return activities.

• Ensure ad spend, agency fees, and promotional budgets are allocated to channels and activities that deliver the highest measurable return across all pillars.

• Require post-campaign ROI reports from the Promotion Team after every major campaign; use findings to improve future investment decisions.

• Present clear, data-driven monthly performance reports to the International Director including revenue vs. target, spend vs. budget, and ROI per pillar and per campaign.

5. Strategic Oversight of the Five Pillars

The Manager sets the strategic direction for each pillar and holds pillar leads accountable for execution and results.

• Set annual goals, revenue targets, and growth strategies for each of the five pillars aligned with Music Nepal’s fiscal year objectives.

• Review pillar performance monthly; identify underperformance, remove blockers, and redirect strategy where needed.

• Make high-level decisions on platform priorities, content strategy, market positioning, and key commercial terms across all pillars.

• Represent Music Nepal in senior-level meetings with DSP partners, telecom operators, YouTube, broadcasters, and OTT content partners.

• Ensure each pillar team and the Promotion Team have clear priorities, the right resources, and defined accountability.

6. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead the full department — pillar leads, the Promotion Team, and supporting staff — with clear expectations, regular reviews, and strong accountability.

• Build a high-performing team culture across all functions; invest in developing team members’ capabilities.

• Manage the departmental budget across all pillars and the Promotion Team; ensure disciplined and effective resource allocation.

• Recruit and retain the right talent; address underperformance promptly and fairly.

7. Reporting & Governance

• Report monthly to the International Director on performance, revenue, brand health, and strategic progress across all pillars and the Promotion Team.

• Ensure all distribution agreements, licensing contracts, CMS arrangements, studio bookings, and OTT content rights are documented and compliant.

• Ensure full compliance with copyright law, IP regulations, platform policies, and Music Nepal’s internal governance standards.

• Escalate material commercial risks or strategic decisions that require senior leadership input.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Media, Music Business, Communications, or a related field. Master’s Degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

• Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in digital distribution, music business, media, brand management, OTT platforms, or a related commercial role.

• Proven track record of developing and closing commercial partnerships and growing revenue across multiple business lines.

• Experience overseeing a marketing or promotions team and managing integrated campaigns with clear ROI accountability.

• Demonstrated ability to develop brand strategy and maintain brand consistency across multiple platforms and products.

• Ability to interpret performance data and make commercially sound investment and budget decisions.

• Working knowledge of DSP distribution, YouTube / CMS, RBT licensing, OTT platforms, or recording studio operations is a strong advantage.

• Proficiency in digital marketing tools — Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, or equivalents.

• Experience in Nepal’s music, media, or entertainment industry is preferred.
