Position: Mechanical Head – Wire Division
Location: Jagdamba Steels Factory, Simara, Bara
Position Summary
Jagdamba Steels Limited is seeking a technically strong and result-oriented Mechanical Head – Wire Division responsible for overseeing production machinery, maintenance, and process efficiency in the manufacturing of galvanized wire, HB wire, binding wire, barbed wire, gabion wire, Torkari Gabion Net and nails.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and optimize galvanized wire, HB wire, binding wire, barbed wire, gabion wire, Gabion Net, Torkari and nails manufacturing processes
- Ensure smooth operation of wire drawing, galvanizing, Torkari and nail-making machines.
- Strong understanding of the Wire galvanizing process, zinc bath operation, pickling line, material handling, and finishing processes.
- Monitoring and maintaining galvanizing equipment such as furnaces, pickling tanks, cranes, and handling systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
- Maintain product quality standards including tensile strength, coating, and dimensions.
- Improve production efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure workplace safety and compliance with industrial standards.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams and prepare reports.
- Implement Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify spare requirements and follow-up with store/purchase for availability.
- Maintain inventory of critical spares, tools, and consumables.
- Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, inspection sheets, checklists, and daily activity reports.
- Prepare monthly performance reports and submit to Plant Head
- Keep documentation ready for audits and compliance checks.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 7–8 years of experience in a Wire Plant
Required Competencies:
- Proficiency in hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of production-related machinery.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for galvanized wire, HB wire, binding wire, barbed wire, gabion wire, Torkari wire, gabion net, and nails.
- Sound understanding of mechanical systems, equipment components, and industrial materials.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
- Good awareness of workplace safety standards and compliance requirements.
