Role Description The EGP Tutor – A Level will provide subject-specific tutoring to A Level learners, focusing on exam preparation, core concepts, and skill development in English General Paper. This contract role is on-site in Kathmandu and requires delivering scheduled sessions, monitoring learner progress, and adapting teaching strategies to different learning styles. Day-to-day tasks include planning lessons aligned with the A Level curriculum, explaining complex topics clearly, assigning and reviewing practice work, and offering constructive feedback. The tutor will maintain accurate records of learner performance, communicate regularly with learners and guardians about progress, and support learners in developing analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills. The role also involves preparing learners for exams through practice papers, timed exercises, and guidance on exam techniques.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in English General Paper at A Level and the ability to explain concepts clearly and accurately.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching A Level or equivalent programs, preferably in an on-site classroom or small-group setting.
- Ability to plan and structure lessons, create practice materials, and use assessment to guide instruction.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to give constructive feedback and support diverse learning styles.
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, track learner progress, and maintain records effectively.
- Commitment to a student-centered approach, with patience, professionalism, and respect for learners from all backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; advanced qualifications or training in teaching A Level subjects are an advantage.
- Familiarity with A Level exam formats, marking criteria, and effective exam preparation strategies.
