Job Description
RTE Global is an international education consultancy headquartered in Dubai and led by senior UK higher education professionals. We work closely with UK universities on international student recruitment, partnerships and transnational education. We are now looking for an International Development Manager in Nepal to support recruitment for one of our key UK university clients.
This is a critical appointment for both our client and for us, and our expectations reflect that importance.
The role
Our client delivers recruitment in Nepal through a single established in-country recruitment partner, and this role adds value to that arrangement rather than duplicating it. You will act as the critical link between the university and its partner, ensuring the excellent work already happening on the ground translates into compliant, high-quality enrolments.
In practice, the role has three parts. The first is quality assurance. You will review applications and ensure that every student is fully compliant before a CAS is issued, covering credibility, documentation, financial evidence and genuine intention to study. You will also play a direct part in the admissions process, assessing applications and supporting the making of offers. In a market where UKVI standards are decisive, your judgement will protect the student, the university and its sponsor licence.
The second is partner support. You will work alongside the partner's team to support their recruitment activities, join events, brief counsellors, and provide training and guidance on the university's programmes and requirements. The partner leads this work; your job is to make it more effective.
The third is liaison. You will be the university's eyes, ears, and voice in Nepal, keeping the client informed through clear, well-written reports, coordinating institutional visits, and ensuring communication between the university and the partner flows quickly and accurately in both directions. You will deal directly with the client's academic schools and professional services teams, so your written work will represent you and the university at a senior level.
The right candidate
Two requirements are essential, and applications without them will not progress. First, you will have at least two years' experience working within UK higher education, including direct admissions experience: you have assessed applications and made offers, and you understand how UK admissions decisions are reached. Second, you will have genuine UKVI compliance experience: you know what thorough vetting looks like, from credibility interviews and document verification to financial evidence, and you understand exactly what must be satisfied before a CAS is issued.
Beyond these essentials, you will be an outstanding communicator, both in writing and in person, able to move comfortably between the partner's counsellors and senior university staff. Because the role sits between two organisations, it calls for diplomacy, tact, and sound judgement: the ability to raise concerns constructively, uphold the university's standards without undermining the partner's relationships, and keep both sides confident in you.
You take pride in accuracy and thoroughness, and you are comfortable in a role where your value is measured in the quality and compliance of every enrolment rather than in headline recruitment numbers. A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is expected, and a postgraduate qualification is an asset, as is confidence with CRM systems and data reporting.
A note on applying in good faith
This role is central to our client's plans, so please apply only if you are genuinely ready and able to accept the position if offered.
