Its mission is to help Nepali students build confident, global futures through reliable information, tailored advice, and ongoing support.Role Description The Canada Senior Counsellor role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Kathmandu office. The Senior Counsellor will guide students interested in studying in Canada by assessing academic profiles, recommending suitable programs and institutions, and explaining admission and visa processes. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, organizing information sessions, supporting documentation preparation, and coordinating with application and visa processing teams. The role also involves maintaining updated knowledge of Canadian education systems, immigration policies, and scholarship opportunities, as well as building relationships with institutional partners. The Senior Counsellor will track student progress, respond to queries promptly, and contribute to continuous improvement of counselling practices and services.
Qualifications
- Strong counselling and advisory skills, with experience guiding students on academic pathways and study-abroad decisions.
- In-depth understanding of Canadian higher education systems, admission criteria, and student visa regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex processes clearly and empathetically.
- Proven organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail in application, compliance, and record-keeping tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, institutional partners, and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English; fluency in Nepali and other regional languages is an asset.
- Previous experience in international education, student counselling, or immigration consulting is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field; relevant professional training or certifications are an advantage.
