Role Overview
The Human Resource Director – HR & Operations will be responsible for leading the people strategy and overseeing day-to-day operations for the Nepal office. This is a senior leadership role that will ensure the organisation scales effectively, operates efficiently, and remains compliant with local regulations while aligning with global standards. The role requires close collaboration with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business and operational objectives
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership on workforce planning, organisational design, and talent development
- Lead performance management, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to support business growth
- Ensure consistent application of performance reviews, learning initiatives, and career development frameworks
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and cultural initiatives
- Manage employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances, and disciplinary processes
- Ensure compliance with Nepal labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements
- Align local HR policies and procedures with global HR frameworks
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring smooth and efficient business functioning
- Manage operational policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Coordinate facilities management, vendor relationships, and administrative services
- Ensure operational readiness to support growing teams and business demands
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and internal governance requirements
- Monitor operational and HR risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Provide regular HR and operational reports, insights, and metrics to senior leadership
- Act as the primary HR and Operations liaison between the Nepal office and the Australian head office
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment in people practices, policies, and operational standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR and Operations teams
- Set clear performance expectations and support professional development
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree or professional HR certification is preferred
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience across HR and/or Operations functions
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role
- Strong knowledge of Nepal labour laws and operational compliance
- Experience working in a growing organisation or multinational environment is highly desirable
- Strong leadership and people management skills
