Group Chief Human Resources OfficerCaro Group of Companies | Kathmandu, Nepal
About Caro GroupCaro Group of Companies is a diversified Nepali conglomerate with businesses spanning telecommunications and internet services, IPTV and digital entertainment, consumer electronics and smart home solutions, digital technology, food manufacturing and distribution, and cosmetics. Headquartered in Kathmandu, the Group brings together a portfolio of operating companies under a shared standard of governance and ambition, each building on Nepal's growing consumer and technology markets while reaching toward international scale. As Caro Group enters its next phase of growth, it is building a group-level leadership team capable of matching that ambition with world-class institutional discipline.
Position SummaryCaro Group is seeking an accomplished Group Chief Human Resources Officer to lead HR strategy, governance, and leadership development across the entire portfolio of Group companies. This is a group-level executive role reporting into the highest levels of the organization, with direct accountability for shaping how Caro Group attracts, develops, and retains talent across sectors as different as telecom infrastructure, consumer electronics, food manufacturing, and cosmetics. The successful candidate will personally lead and mentor the CHROs, HR Directors, and senior HR leaders of each subsidiary, building a unified people strategy that respects the distinct realities of each business while raising the overall standard of HR practice across the Group. This is a role for a seasoned HR executive who is equally comfortable setting policy in the boardroom and coaching a subsidiary HR leader through a difficult organizational decision.
Key Responsibilities- Define and lead the Group-wide HR strategy, aligning talent, organizational design, and culture priorities with Caro Group's overall business strategy and growth plans
- Directly lead, mentor, and develop the CHROs, HR Directors, and senior HR leadership of each Group company, building a strong and cohesive HR leadership bench across the portfolio
- Establish consistent HR governance frameworks, policies, and standards across all subsidiaries, while allowing appropriate flexibility for sector-specific needs
- Partner with the Group's executive leadership and the boards of individual companies on organizational design, succession planning, and executive talent decisions
- Oversee Group-wide talent acquisition strategy for senior and critical roles, ensuring each subsidiary can attract leadership-caliber talent in competitive markets
- Lead the design of compensation, benefits, and performance management philosophies that are equitable and competitive across sectors with very different talent markets
- Champion leadership development and succession planning at the Group level, building the next generation of subsidiary and functional leaders from within
- Guide the Group's approach to organizational culture, employee engagement, and change management through periods of growth, restructuring, or diversification
- Ensure HR practices across all companies meet applicable labor law and regulatory requirements, and represent sound risk management to the Group
- Report regularly to Group executive leadership on HR performance, talent risk, and organizational health across the portfolio
- Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- A minimum of eight to ten years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a track record of holding senior or executive-level HR roles
- Prior experience in multinational or multi-entity organizations strongly preferred, with demonstrated ability to lead HR across diverse business units or geographies
- Proven experience building and leading HR leadership teams, including direct mentorship of other HR executives or directors
- Strong track record in organizational design, talent strategy, and executive succession planning at a group or enterprise level
- Deep working knowledge of labor law, HR governance, and regulatory compliance, ideally including experience in the Nepali or South Asian market
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at board level, including experience presenting to and advising senior executives or board members
- Experience leading HR across genuinely diverse industries, particularly combinations of technology, manufacturing, and consumer-facing businesses
- Familiarity with HR practices in family-owned or founder-led conglomerates, and an understanding of how to professionalize HR functions within that context
- Strong command of HR analytics and workforce planning tools to inform Group-level decision-making
- Experience designing or overhauling group-wide compensation and total rewards frameworks
- Cross-cultural fluency and the interpersonal range to work effectively with subsidiary leaders who may be based in different markets or reporting into different business models
- Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Nepali is an advantage
- This is an opportunity to build a modern, group-level HR function from a position of genuine influence, at a company where the CHRO's decisions will shape the leadership bench of half a dozen distinct businesses. You will work directly with Caro Group's most senior leadership, carry real authority over how the Group develops and retains its people, and have the mandate to bring international HR practice into one of Nepal's most ambitious and fastest-diversifying business groups. For an HR executive who wants more than a single-company mandate, this role offers the scale, complexity, and visibility to make a lasting mark.
