Role Description The South Korea Counsellor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu. This role involves guiding prospective students through the process of applying to South Korean institutions, including explaining academic programs, admission criteria, and scholarship opportunities. The counsellor will conduct one-on-one counseling sessions, review academic documents, assist with application forms, and provide timelines for tests, interviews, and visa processes. Daily tasks include responding to inquiries, maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with partner institutions or representatives, and organizing information sessions or workshops related to study opportunities in South Korea. The counsellor will also stay current on South Korean education regulations, visa requirements, and cultural aspects to provide reliable and practical advice.

Qualifications

  • Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to guide students and families through education and visa processes in a clear, supportive manner.
  • Understanding of the D2, D4 visas and the processes associated with it.
  • Knowledge of South Korean higher education systems, admission procedures, scholarship options, and basic visa and immigration requirements for international students.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali (spoken and written), with the ability to present information clearly and handle inquiries professionally.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining student records, tracking application progress, and managing multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Comfort with basic IT tools, such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, and online application portals.
  • Prior experience in education consulting, student counseling, or related fields is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (such as Education, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field) is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Kathmandu, collaborate with a team, and maintain a professional, non-discriminatory, learner-focused approach.
