The role involves advising students on UK study options, including universities, courses, admission requirements, and scholarships. Day-to-day tasks include conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, assessing student profiles, and recommending suitable academic pathways in the UK. The UK Counsellor will assist with application preparation, documentation review, and coordination of admission and visa processes in line with current UK regulations. The role also includes organizing information sessions, maintaining accurate records of student interactions, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality service. The UK Counsellor is expected to stay updated on UK education trends, policies, and institutional offerings to provide accurate, timely guidance.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of UK higher education systems, admission requirements, and visa procedures, with the ability to interpret and explain them clearly to students and families.
- Excellent counselling and advisory skills, including active listening, student profiling, and providing tailored guidance based on individual academic and career goals.
- Effective communication skills in English and Nepali, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly in meetings and group sessions.
- Good organizational and time management abilities, including maintaining accurate records, managing multiple student cases, and meeting deadlines during peak admission periods.
- Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills that support respectful, inclusive interactions with diverse students and stakeholders.
- Comfort with basic office software and digital tools, including email, spreadsheets, and online application or CRM platforms used for student case management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field; prior experience in education consulting, student advising, or international admissions is an advantage.
- Up-to-date understanding of UK immigration and study policies, and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
