Role Description The Mern Stack Instructor is a part-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu. The instructor will design and deliver curriculum covering MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js, including lectures, labs, and project-based learning. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, mentoring learners, reviewing assignments, and providing constructive feedback to help learners progress. The role also involves staying updated with industry trends, refining course content, collaborating with other instructors, and supporting learners in building job-ready portfolios. The instructor will contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment and help learners prepare for real-world development roles.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with web development tools and practices (REST APIs, version control with Git, front-end build tools).
- Prior teaching, mentoring, training, or technical coaching experience, preferably in software development or IT.
- Ability to design structured curricula, create clear instructional materials, and explain complex topics in accessible language.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with a learner-focused and inclusive approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working with diverse learner backgrounds and a commitment to non-discriminatory, gender-neutral teaching practices.
- Familiarity with industry practices such as agile development, code review, and deployment workflows is a plus.
- Experience with additional front-end or back-end frameworks, cloud platforms, or databases beyond MERN is beneficial.
