Job Description
Job Summary

The Business Development Officer shall be responsible for developing and expanding the agency's institutional and corporate insurance portfolio by identifying prospective organizations, understanding their insurance and risk-management requirements, developing appropriate insurance solutions in coordination with insurance companies, acquiring new corporate accounts, maintaining client relationships, supporting renewals, and generating sustainable revenue.

The position is expected to function as a consultative B2B insurance professional, focusing on long-term corporate relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Business Development

  • Identify and develop prospective institutional and corporate clients across multiple sectors
  • Generate sales pipeline and maintain a structured corporate prospect database
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, insurance products, and pricing developments.
  • Conduct corporate visits, meetings, presentations, networking, and business development activities.
  • Generate target-driven business through direct approaches, referrals, networking, strategic partnerships, industry events, and other appropriate channels.
  • Prepare and execute monthly and quarterly business development plans.
  • Identify potential insurance gaps and communicate them professionally to clients.
  • Coordinate with relevant insurance companies to obtain suitable quotations and coverage options.
  • Ensure that client-specific proposals are recommended based on the client's requirements and appropriate insurance solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management
  • Experience in insurance sales shall be preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in corporate sales, insurance, and BFIs.
  • -Demonstrate strong commercial communication, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills
  • Proposal writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure situations, and meet targets

Working Requirements

The position requires substantial external interaction. The Officer shall be willing to:

  • Visit prospective and existing corporate clients.
  • Attend meetings with senior corporate decision-makers.
  • Participate in networking events, seminars, and business forums.
  • Travel daily within Kathmandu Valley and outside the Valley when required.
  • Work beyond normal office hours when required for client meetings or business development activities.
  • A valid driving license and access to a two-wheeler are a must
