Role Description The Scrap & Heavy Equipment Trading Executive will manage end-to-end trading activities for scrap materials and heavy equipment, including sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers and buyers. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, conducting market research, maintaining vendor and client relationships, and coordinating inspections, pricing, and contracts to ensure profitable and compliant transactions. The role also involves tracking inventory, overseeing logistics and documentation, and preparing periodic sales and performance reports for management. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu, requiring regular collaboration with internal teams and external partners to meet trading targets and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience in sales or trading of industrial goods, scrap, or heavy equipment.
  • Market research and analytical abilities to evaluate pricing, demand trends, and competition in the scrap and heavy equipment sectors.
  • Relationship management skills to build and maintain networks with suppliers, buyers, transporters, and other stakeholders.
  • Operational and logistics coordination capabilities, including basic knowledge of inventory handling, transport arrangements, and trade documentation.
  • Good communication skills in English and local languages, with the ability to prepare clear proposals, reports, and customer correspondence.
  • Attention to detail and basic numeracy skills for reviewing contracts, quotations, and calculations related to weights, prices, and margins.
  • Familiarity with safety, compliance, and ethical practices related to scrap handling, heavy equipment, and local regulations.
  • Proficiency in common office software (e.g., MS Excel, Word, email) and willingness to learn internal tools and systems.
  • Minimum of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience in trading, procurement, or sales in industrial, construction, or manufacturing sectors is an advantage.
