Job Description
In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will work as an Investment & Banking Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review AI-generated investment, banking, and corporate finance outputs and/or create expert finance content, evaluating reasoning quality and step-by-step analytical problem-solving while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt; identify errors in valuation logic (DCF/comps/precedents), deal structuring, capital markets concepts, accounting linkages, risk analysis, and narrative rigor; fact-check financial claims and calculations; write high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct methods; and rate and compare multiple responses based on correctness and reasoning quality. This role is with SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, delivering training data for many of the world’s largest AI companies and foundation-model labs.Important
There is no immediate project for this role; however, if qualified, you will be among the first experts we reach out to when relevant opportunities arise. This will also provide you with access to future projects available through our expert network.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard outputs (valuation write-ups, model walkthroughs, investment memos, pitchbook-style summaries).
- Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve numeric accuracy, rigor, clarity, and decision usefulness.
- Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI outputs for calculation errors, flawed assumptions, misleading conclusions, and bias; validate reliability across deal scenarios.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA/CFA is a strong plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, equity research, or corporate finance.
- Expert command of valuation methods: DCF mechanics, trading comparables, precedent transactions, and how assumptions drive outcomes.
- Strong accounting fluency: income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital, debt schedules, and common modeling pitfalls.
- Proven ability to build and review financial models (3-statement, merger model accretion/dilution intuition, LBO basics, sensitivities/scenarios).
- Strong understanding of capital markets concepts: equity vs debt, cost of capital, covenants, credit metrics, issuance mechanics (high level).
- High attention to detail: units, sign conventions, circularities, model integrity checks, and defensible narrative claims.
- Ability to write clear, structured analysis (executive summary → key drivers → risks → conclusion); minimum C1 English proficiency.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, investment memo QA, pitchbook review, or financial editorial work is strongly preferred.
