Job Description

ABOUT DATUM

A datum is the fixed reference from which every other measurement is taken. Nothing on a drawing can be placed without one. It is invisible in the finished building, and the whole building depends on it. Datum brings carefully selected window and door systems, railings, partitions, screens, skylights and facade solutions to Nepal, and installs them with our own trained team. These are the systems that shape how a building meets the world around it, and we believe they belong to the same decision rather than to five separate ones.

We are opening an Experience Centre in Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu, where these systems can be opened, operated and understood properly before anyone commits to them.

We are building the first team now.

THE ROLE

The Experience Concierge is the primary client-facing and commercial role at Datum, owning the journey from first enquiry through consultation, follow-up and conversion. You will understand what a client needs, guide them through the Experience Centre, help them navigate the available solutions, coordinate the right technical and commercial input, and carry opportunities through to order.

The role combines consultative selling, client relationships, product knowledge and commercial ownership. Primarily based at the Experience Centre, you will also meet clients, architects, designers and contractors at their offices or project sites whenever the requirement or relationship warrants it.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

Client engagement and consultation

  • Receive, qualify and record enquiries across walk-ins, telephone, WhatsApp, email, website, social media and referrals
  • Understand the client's requirement, priorities, project stage and budget before recommending a solution
  • Guide clients through the Experience Centre and explain relevant products, applications and options
  • Meet clients, architects, interior designers and contractors at the Experience Centre, their offices or project sites as required
  • Bring in the Technical Solutions Consultant when a requirement needs technical assessment or specification

Sales and conversion

  • Conduct guided product demonstrations and consultations at the Experience Centre
  • Present approved quotations and keep clients informed throughout the decision-making process
  • Follow up systematically on active opportunities and move them towards a decision
  • Negotiate within approved commercial terms and convert opportunities into orders
  • Coordinate meetings, site visits, product discussions and internal handovers
  • Remain the client's primary coordination point through delivery, installation and handover

Experience Centre

  • Maintain the Experience Centre to Datum's standard across displays, samples, literature and demonstration units
  • Track samples, literature and display requirements and coordinate replenishment
  • Support architect engagement programmes, product workshops and events
  • Coordinate the Experience Host and day-to-day client-facing requirements of the Centre
  • Coordinate project photography, client testimonials and other approved Experience Centre content

Systems, insight and reporting

  • Maintain accurate client, opportunity, quotation and follow-up records in the company's CRM
  • Keep opportunity stages, next actions and commercial information current
  • Report on enquiries, Experience Centre visits, pipeline, conversion and forecast
  • Identify recurring customer requirements, objections and buying patterns and share findings with the team
  • Monitor competitor activity, positioning, pricing signals and relevant market developments

HOW YOU WORK WITH THE TEAM

You work closely with the Technical Solutions Consultant when a requirement needs technical assessment or specification, the Commercial & Finance Lead on costing and quotations, and the Project & Field Lead through delivery and installation. You remain the client's primary coordination point throughout the journey, while the wider team contributes where its expertise is required.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

You will learn Datum's product range and systems deeply enough to advise clients confidently, including hands-on training with our manufacturers. This is a founding role with significant responsibility from the outset. You will be expected to take ownership of the client-facing function, build strong product and market knowledge, and contribute to how Datum develops its client relationships and commercial process as the company grows.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A confident, well-presented communicator with the maturity to take ownership of client relationships and commercial opportunities, and who handles premium, high-involvement customers with ease.

Experience in sales, business development, client relationships, or client servicing is preferred, ideally in building materials, architecture, interiors, real estate, automotive, premium retail or another consultative environment.

You should be able to learn a technical product properly, understand a client's needs and explain solutions clearly. You should also be comfortable with quotations, follow-up and negotiation, with sound commercial judgement.

Strong written and spoken English and Nepali. Organised, commercially minded and comfortable managing multiple opportunities. Experience with Odoo or a CRM/ERP system, Google Workspace or Microsoft Office is an advantage.

HOW THE ROLE IS MEASURED

Enquiry response, follow-up completion, Experience Centre footfall, quotation-to-order conversion, pipeline visibility, CRM accuracy and commercial performance through handover. Specific targets will be set with you after joining and reviewed as the business develops.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

Preferred: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Full time, primarily based at the Experience Centre in Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu, with client and project visits as required. Own two-wheeler or four-wheeler with a valid licence preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Competitive and dependent on experience and capability, discussed directly with candidates as they progress.

SELECTION PROCESS

An initial conversation, an in-person interview, a short practical task discussed with us afterwards, and a final conversation before offer.
