The Procurement Officer is responsible for monitoring sourcing and procuring restaurant, culinary ingredients, kitchen supplies, and other necessary items to ensure the smooth functioning of restaurant operations. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor inventory levels to maintain an efficient and cost-effective supply chain.
Reports to: Restaurant manager/ Operation Manager
Responsibilities
- Compile and summarize data to create reports, schedules, proposals, summaries, and correspondence, providing support for assigned F&B procurement activities.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for food products and kitchen supplies.
- Prepare and submit daily and monthly reports to the Operation & Sales manager, Restaurant Manager regarding purchasing activities, including price increases or decreases and related observations.
- Coordinate with restaurant managers and chefs to understand their procurement needs.
- Understand, track, and predict the primary cost influencers and market factors affecting assigned commodities.
- Contribute to strategy development by incorporating spend analysis, market dynamics, and geographic factors, emphasizing strategic significance.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- Conduct quality checks on received goods to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards.
- Manage consumables inventory, track users' purchasing behaviors to reduce costs, and establish monitoring controls for oversight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
Skills
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the food service industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of inventory management software and procurement systems.
