Role Description The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Pokhara, supporting the housekeeping leadership in ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort. This position oversees daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, and coordinates staff schedules, room assignments, and quality checks. The role involves supervising housekeeping and laundry teams, providing training and guidance, and ensuring adherence to brand standards, health, and safety protocols. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager responds to guest requests, collaborates closely with Front Office and Engineering, manages inventories of linens and supplies, and assists with recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations of housekeeping team members.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills and team leadership abilities to oversee housekeeping and laundry staff effectively.
- Candidates should possess experience in Laundry operations, including handling linens, garment care, and coordination with external laundry services as needed.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service and Communication skills to interact professionally with guests and colleagues and resolve issues promptly.
- Candidates should possess Hiring and basic people management skills to support recruitment, training, and performance management of housekeeping personnel.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or hotel operations, preferably in a luxury or boutique resort environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting with fluctuating occupancy levels.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to use housekeeping management systems and basic office software for reporting and scheduling.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
