Inventory Manager (IM) is responsible to oversee the inventory levels of businesses. The IM shall be responsible for developing inventory tracking systems, reviewing levels of supplies, ordering new materials, and performing a daily analysis. Overall, the inventory manager needs to ensure stability and efficiency while maintaining the supply chain management.
Roles and Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Creates, implements and maintains a successful inventory management program to mitigate unplanned issues due to inventory-related shortages and maximize inventory space in the facility.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, storage, and shipment/transfer of product to and from the store.
- Ensure the inventory planning prepared for the inventory team has been implemented.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions and record of all inventory stock through regularly scheduled cycle count.
- Determine and ensure optimal security of all materials and arrange for all shipments as per the requirement.
- Manage all inventory transactions and provide required feedback to the team.
- Proposes strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Vendor Management
- Develops business relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
People Management
- Communicate with inventory employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues
- Train employees and staff in all inventory control processes according to manual and update processes if required.
- Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
Reporting
- Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management.
- Other duties as assigned by the Company.
