Role Description The Pharmacy Assistant role at HEAL PHARMACY is a full-time, on-site position based in Heṭauā. The Pharmacy Assistant will support pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, and verifying basic prescription information under supervision. Daily responsibilities include assisting customers at the counter, answering phone inquiries, handling billing, and providing clear, courteous information about pharmacy services. The role also involves maintaining stock levels, organizing shelves, checking expiry dates, and supporting overall inventory management to ensure an orderly and compliant pharmacy environment. The Pharmacy Assistant will collaborate with the pharmacy team to uphold safety standards, confidentiality, and a high level of customer service.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in handling prescriptions and basic pharmacy operations under professional supervision.
  • Candidates should possess strong customer service skills to interact respectfully and clearly with diverse clients.
  • Candidates should possess phone etiquette skills for managing calls, inquiries, and follow-ups professionally.
  • Candidates should possess inventory management skills to track stock, organize supplies, and support ordering processes.
  • Candidates should ideally have prior experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or retail environment.
  • Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to follow safety and confidentiality protocols.
  • Candidates should have basic computer literacy for using pharmacy or point-of-sale systems; local language proficiency and functional English are an advantage.
  • A relevant certificate or training in pharmacy assistance or health sciences is preferred, in line with local regulations.
