About the Role

Ro Himalayan Logistics is looking for a Freight Forwarder to manage and coordinate international shipments from origin to destination. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of freight forwarding, shipping documentation, customs coordination, and international logistics, with excellent communication and follow-up skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate air, sea, road, and multimodal freight shipments from origin to destination.
- Handle end-to-end freight forwarding operations and shipment coordination.
- Communicate with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs agents, and customers.
- Obtain and compare freight quotations from carriers and overseas agents.
- Coordinate booking of cargo with shipping lines, airlines, and other carriers.
- Prepare, verify, and coordinate shipping and freight documentation.
- Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to customers and management.
- Coordinate with customs clearance teams for smooth and timely cargo clearance.
- Follow up on Bill of Lading (BL), Airway Bill (AWB), Delivery Order (DO), Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, and other required documents.
- Ensure shipment documentation is accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
- Track ETD, ETA, transshipment, arrival, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate inland transportation, cargo pickup, delivery, and warehouse operations.
- Handle shipment discrepancies, delays, damages, shortages, and other operational issues.
- Maintain proper records of shipments, quotations, freight rates, invoices, and operational documents.
- Coordinate with the Finance Department regarding freight invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing.
- Support freight-rate negotiation with carriers, agents, and service providers.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with overseas agents, carriers, and customers.
- Ensure freight forwarding activities comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare regular shipment and operational reports for management.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or international trade.
- Good knowledge of international freight forwarding procedures.
- Practical knowledge of Air Freight, Sea Freight, Road Freight, and multimodal transportation.
- Knowledge of shipping and customs documentation.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with freight-forwarding software/ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong follow-up, coordination, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict shipment deadlines.
