Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and AI-savvy QA Automation Engineer II who can ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our web and backend systems. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a scalable automation framework for a new project while developing and maintaining automated test suites for UI and API testing. This role includes leveraging AI tools to improve testing efficiency, integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, reviewing automation code, collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams, and ensuring adherence to modern automation standards and SDLC best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a scalable automation framework for a new project, ensuring maintainability, reusability, and scalability.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end automated tests for web applications using JavaScript-based tools (Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent).
- Develop and maintain API automation frameworks using REST Assured (Java).
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance validation.
- Develop and execute E2E test scenarios covering complete user workflows and system integrations.
- Use AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, test generation tools) to accelerate test creation, improve coverage, and optimize QA workflows.
- Review automation and test-related code to ensure quality, maintainability, and best practices compliance.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Perform manual testing when necessary to complement automation coverage.
- Troubleshoot test failures, analyze logs, reproduce bugs, and document issues clearly.
- Integrate and manage test suites in CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for test cases, automation frameworks, test data, and results.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and code reviews.
- Contribute to QA standards, automation strategies, and AI-driven testing practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in test automation for web applications and APIs.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript-based automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent).
- Strong experience with REST Assured (Java) for API testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile practices.
- Experience in reviewing code and improving test quality and structure.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience using AI tools in QA or software development workflows.
- Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, k6).
- Knowledge of security testing tools (Burp Suite).
- Experience in B2B SaaS or large-scale web applications.
- Familiarity with AI-based test generation or test optimization techniques.
- Understanding of ERP or complex system testing.
