About this role/ Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong .NET development background to join our engineering team. The primary focus of this role is to design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment processes, while also contributing to application development when needed.
You will work closely with development teams to improve system reliability, performance, and observability, and help drive modernization initiatives including containerization and cloud-native architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise (60%)
- Participate in requirements analysis.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
- Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
- Test and deploy applications and systems.
- Revise, update, refactor and debug code.
- Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Manage deployment processes using Octopus Deploy.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of systems.
- Implement and maintain observability using OpenTelemetry and Honeycomb.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and metrics; proactively identify bottlenecks.
- Manage and evolve infrastructure toward containerized environments (Docker).
- Support and contribute to cloud-native adoption using AWS services, including:
- Kubernetes (planned future state)
- Work with Global DevOps Team to identify issues or implement recommendations CDN technologies (e.g., Akamai) and understand performance optimization strategies.
- Maintain secure and compliant infrastructure, implementing best practices in DevSecOps.
Product Quality Assurance (30%)
- Conduct functional testing and verification before sending to QA.
- Prepare functional document for QA team for further testing.
- Support performance testing and tuning of applications and infrastructure.
- Ensure high standards for release quality and deployment stability.
- Contribute to incident analysis, root cause identification, and prevention.
- Promote quality-first mindset across development and deployment workflows.
Team Management (5%)
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers on DevOps best practices.
- Encourage adoption of consistent engineering standards and processes.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and internal documentation
Stakeholder Management (5%)
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams to align on delivery goals.
- Communicate system health, risks, and improvements to relevant stakeholders.
- Support planning and prioritization of DevOps and infrastructure initiatives.
Any other additional tasks or responsibilities as required by the business.
Required Experience & Qualifications / Critical elements of success.
Core DevOps Responsibilities (Primary Focus)
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer in modern cloud-based environments
- Education: BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar
- Strong practical experience with containerization (Docker) and good understanding of container lifecycle management
- Experience with deployment automation tools such as Octopus Deploy or equivalent
- Hands-on exposure to Kubernetes and orchestration of microservices-based applications
- Good understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) including deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability solutions (OpenTelemetry or similar)
- Strong understanding of release management, versioning, and rollback strategies
- Knowledge of CDN concepts (e.g., Akamai, CloudFront) and ZTN (like Netskope)
- Ensure system reliability through automation, performance tuning, and incident response practices
- Exposure to security best practices in DevOps (DevSecOps) is a plus
.NET Development Capabilities (Secondary / Supporting Role)
- Working knowledge of the .NET ecosystem (.NET Core / .NET Framework)
- Ability to read, debug, and optimize .NET applications for deployment and performance
- Experience building or maintaining REST APIs using ASP.NET Core & C# (basic to intermediate level)
- Familiarity with application configuration, dependency injection, and environment-based setups
- Understanding of database interaction (MSSQL, EF Core) to support deployment and troubleshooting
- Awareness of microservices architecture and messaging systems
- Basic knowledge of authentication mechanisms (OAuth/OpenID Connect)
Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)
- Experience with distributed tracing and advanced observability practices
- Familiarity with DDD, CQRS, and clean architecture principles (from an operational perspective)
- Exposure to automated testing pipelines (unit/integration test integration in CI/CD)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills, especially in cross-functional tea
