Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Cyber Security Tutor, based in Kathmandu. The tutor will be responsible for delivering engaging and insightful lectures on cyber security topics, designing and updating course materials, and conducting hands-on training workshops. Additional responsibilities include mentoring students, evaluating their progress, and ensuring they are well-prepared for real-world applications of cyber security practices.

Job Type: Part-Time (Afternoon / Evening Shift – 2 Hours/day)

Level: Instructor / Trainer

Working Days: Sunday – Friday

Working Timings: Flexible 2-hour window in the Afternoon/Evening (e.g., 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM / 3:00 P.M - 5 P.M)

Salary Offered: Competitive / Negotiable (Based on expertise and instructional experience)


Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver comprehensive, engaging, and practical lectures on cybersecurity fundamentals, network security, and ethical hacking techniques during the designated 2-hour shift.
  • Hands-on Lab Guidance: Guide students through practical sessions utilizing critical industry tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, and Metasploit.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Explain core concepts of vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and compliance frameworks (like ISO 27001 or NIST) in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Student Evaluation: Assess student progress through assignments, real-world case study discussions, and mock security incident response scenarios.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance on career pathways, industry certifications, and best practices within the evolving cyber threat landscape.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Tool Expertise: Deep practical familiarity with common security tools like Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Metasploit, etc.
  • Strong Subject Command: Thorough understanding of penetration testing, network protocols (TCP/IP), and secure operating system environments (Linux, Windows).
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to break down complex technical findings and security architectures into digestible lessons for learners.
  • Scripting Skills (Preferred): Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to teach automated security scripting.
  • Certifications (Highly Value-Adding): Possession of industry certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CompTIA Security+, or OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional).


Education & Experience

  • Academic background in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Prior teaching, tutoring, or professional training experience in cybersecurity is highly preferred.
  • Strong industry exposure with hands-on penetration testing and risk assessment experience.
