Role Description The Senior Counselor is a full-time, on-site role located in Kathmandu. This position is responsible for providing one-on-one and group counseling to individuals seeking study-abroad opportunities, including course, country, and institution selection based on academic background, interests, and budget. The Senior Counselor will guide applicants through admission, documentation, and visa processes, maintain accurate case records, and follow up regularly with learners and families. The role includes conducting information sessions, participating in fairs or seminars, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination with partner institutions. The Senior Counselor is also expected to mentor junior counselors, contribute to process improvements, and support marketing and outreach efforts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in educational counseling or study-abroad consulting, preferably in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong advisory skills in academic and career planning, including program selection, country comparison, and institution matching.
  • Proficiency in guiding applicants through application forms, documentation requirements, and basic visa procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and build trust with diverse learners and families.
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including handling multiple cases, maintaining records, and meeting application deadlines.
  • Comfort with using office productivity tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, CRM or student management systems) to track and report on cases.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Management, or a related field; a higher degree or counseling certification is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working with international education providers or agencies and familiarity with major study destinations (e.g., USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in Kathmandu, collaborate within a team, and support occasional events or sessions outside regular hours when required.
