Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Loan Processor (Client Manager) to join our mortgage brokerage team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing loan applications from submission through to settlement, ensuring each file is accurate, compliant, and progressed efficiently. We are specifically looking for a capable and confident processor who can manage residential full doc files across all levels of complexity. Experience with low doc and alt doc files will be highly regarded and seen as a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Loan File Management: Manage residential loan applications from initial submission through to formal approval and settlement, ensuring all stages of the process are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Document Collection and Review: Gather, review, and verify client documentation including income documents, identification, bank statements, liabilities, and supporting information to ensure files are complete and submission ready.
- Residential and Full Doc File Processing: Confidently handle residential and full doc loan files across a wide range of complexity, maintaining a high standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and turnaround times.
- Low Doc and Alt Doc Processing: Experience in processing low doc and alt doc files will be highly regarded and considered an added advantage.
- Lender and Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with lenders, BDMs, clients, brokers, solicitors, and valuers to ensure smooth progression of applications and timely resolution of outstanding matters.
- Submission and Pipeline Management: Prepare and submit loan applications to lenders, monitor file progress, follow up outstanding requirements, and proactively manage the pipeline to keep applications moving forward.
- Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure all files are processed in accordance with responsible lending obligations, lender policy, and internal compliance standards.
- Client Support: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients throughout the loan process, providing updates, requesting information, and helping create a positive customer experience.
- Problem Solving and Risk Awareness: Identify potential issues early in the process, escalate where appropriate, and work with brokers and other stakeholders to find practical solutions that support successful outcomes.
- Record Keeping and Systems Management: Maintain accurate notes, records, and updates across CRM systems, lender portals, and internal workflows in line with company procedures. Successful handover to Settlements Team.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery across the loan processing function.
Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a Loan Processor, Mortgage Processor, or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience managing residential full doc files across a range of complexity.
- Experience processing low doc and alt doc applications will be viewed favourably.
- Strong knowledge of loan documentation, lender requirements, and mortgage processing workflows.
- Good understanding of responsible lending obligations and industry compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with brokers and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with mortgage software and lender platforms.
- A proactive approach to follow up, problem solving, and delivering a high standard of service.
