Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Odoo Functional Consultant to join our team in Nepal. This role requires a strong understanding of Odoo functionality and a deep understanding of Nepali accounting practices and regulations, particularly those related to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and other legal compliances. You will be responsible for implementing Odoo to meet the specific needs of Nepali businesses, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Familiarity with compliance and regulations of other geographies like India & Middle East is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
Elicit and document detailed business requirements from Nepali clients, with a strong focus on accounting, tax, and regulatory needs.
Analyze requirements and translate them into functional specifications for Odoo implementation.
Identify gaps between client requirements and standard Odoo functionality and propose solutions, considering Nepali compliance requirements.
Odoo Configuration & Customization (Compliance Focus):
Configure and customize Odoo modules, with a primary focus on accounting, invoicing, inventory, and other modules relevant to Nepali regulatory compliance.
Implement Nepali accounting standards and practices within Odoo.
Configure Odoo to generate reports and documents required by the IRD (e.g., VAT returns, tax invoices).
Ensure Odoo implementation aligns with Nepali legal requirements for data storage, security, and reporting.
Compliance Knowledge & Application:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Nepali tax laws, IRD regulations, and other relevant compliance requirements.
Advise clients on best practices for using Odoo to meet their compliance obligations.
Collaborate with legal and accounting professionals to ensure Odoo implementations remain compliant with evolving regulations.
Implementation & Testing:
Participate in Odoo implementation projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines, with a strong focus on compliance aspects.
Conduct thorough testing of Odoo configurations and customizations, specifically verifying compliance with Nepali regulations.
Support data migration activities from legacy systems to Odoo, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
Training & Support:
Develop and deliver training materials for Odoo users, with a specific focus on how to use Odoo for compliance purposes.
Provide ongoing support to clients, resolving issues and answering questions related to Odoo functionality and Nepali compliance.
Create user manuals and documentation to support Odoo implementations, including guidance on compliance-related tasks.
Communication & Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams, clearly explaining compliance requirements and Odoo functionality.
Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on progress, highlighting any compliance-related challenges.
Collaborate with other consultants and developers to share knowledge and best practices related to Nepali compliance.
Continuous Learning:
Stay up-to-date with the latest Odoo versions, features, and best practices.
Continuously learn about changes in Nepali tax laws, IRD regulations, and other relevant compliance requirements.

Job Specification

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience as a Functional Consultant, with a focus on Odoo implementations and Nepali compliance.
Good understanding of Nepali accounting principles and practices, including Nepali tax laws, IRD regulations, and other relevant compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience configuring Odoo modules.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Fluency in English and Nepali.
Odoo certification is a plus.
Experience working with Nepali businesses is highly preferred.
