The organization values integrity, performance, and continuous improvement across all functions, including workshop operations.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Workshop Incharge located at Bishnupur-I. The Workshop Incharge will oversee day-to-day workshop operations, including planning, assigning, and monitoring repair and maintenance work for Ashok Leyland commercial vehicles. Responsibilities include supervising technical staff, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, coordinating job cards, managing workflow to meet turnaround targets, and maintaining proper documentation and records. The role involves communicating with customers regarding service requirements, job status, and technical issues, as well as collaborating with parts, sales, and management teams to support smooth operations. The Workshop Incharge will also track performance metrics, support training and development of technicians, and implement continuous improvement in processes, tools, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably with experience in Ashok Leyland or similar heavy vehicles.
- Hands-on experience in workshop supervision or service management, including work allocation, quality checks, and safety compliance.
- Ability to manage job cards, service records, and workflow planning to meet deadlines and efficiency goals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with customers, technicians, and internal teams.
- Basic understanding of inventory and parts management to support timely repairs.
- Proficiency in using computer-based systems for documentation, reporting, and scheduling.
- Diploma or degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Prior experience in an automotive workshop setting, especially with commercial vehicles, will be an added advantage.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, handle pressure, and maintain a disciplined and safe work environment.
