Role Summary
We are seeking a Mid-Level Project Manager to oversee and streamline operations for our engineering team. While this role can be filled by either a technical (preferred) or non-technical PM, you must excel at organizing technical workflows, clearing operational blockers, and ensuring smooth delivery cycles. You will bridge the gap between engineering priorities, product roadmaps, and business stakeholders, ensuring that infrastructure, CI/CD, and reliability initiatives are delivered on time and with clear documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery & Agile Facilitation: Lead Agile rituals (daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives) specifically tailored for DevOps and infrastructure work.
- Sprint & Backlog Management: Translate high-level business and technical objectives into prioritized user stories, task breakdowns, and actionable tickets in Jira/Linear.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact between DevOps engineers, software development teams, QA, and business stakeholders.
- Blocker Removal & Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify bottlenecks in pipelines, environment provisioning, or deployment processes, and clear impediments for the team.
- Resource & Workload Management: Track team bandwidth, manage sprint capacity, and prevent burnout by balancing scheduled project work with unplanned support or incident tasks.
- Process Standardization & Documentation: Drive clear documentation for deployment schedules, incident response protocols, release notes, and team workflows.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting: Define and report on delivery metrics (velocity, lead time, cycle time, release schedules) to leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of project management experience, ideally working directly with software engineering or IT infrastructure teams.
- Methodologies: Strong proficiency in Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid Agile frameworks adapted for operations and infrastructure teams.
- Tooling Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience with project tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello, Linear, or similar) and managing board workflows.
- Technical Background: Prior experience as a Developer, SysAdmin, or QA with a transition into project management is a strong plus.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language and vice versa.
- Problem-Solving: Proven track record of managing competing priorities, handling scope changes, and resolving team conflicts.
Nice-to-Have
- DevOps Literacy : Conceptual understanding of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization, and deployment releases—enough to understand dependencies, technical debt.
- Formal certifications (PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, or PSM I).
- Experience with incident management frameworks (ITIL, SRE practices, or post-mortem post-incident reviews).
- Familiarity with DevOps metrics like DORA (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, Change Failure Rate, Time to Restore).
Compensation: Negotiable
Perks & Benefits:
- Quarterly team-building events
- Quarterly bonuses
- Working with cross-cultural team
- Annual Health Check-Up
Laptop: The candidates are expected to have a properly functioning personal laptop suitable for carrying out their work effectively.
