The Lalitpur office serves as an important coordination point for the Group’s Kathmandu Valley operations.
Role Description
The Office Runner / Computer & Administrative Assistant is a full-time, on-site position based at the Jamadar Group’s Lalitpur office.
The position combines office computer work, administrative support, document handling, and outdoor office errands. The candidate will be expected to efficiently support the day-to-day functioning of the Lalitpur office and coordinate with the Group’s offices, banks, government offices, vendors, clients, warehouses, and other business locations.
The candidate must be comfortable using a computer and handling routine office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, email, printing, scanning, document preparation, data entry, and basic file management.
The candidate will also be required to travel around Lalitpur and Kathmandu for official errands. Therefore, a valid two-wheeler driving license and the ability to ride a motorcycle or scooter are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily computer-based office and administrative tasks.
- Prepare, edit, format, print, scan, photocopy, and organize documents.
- Perform basic data entry and maintain digital and physical records.
- Use MS Word and MS Excel for routine office work.
- Handle official emails, WhatsApp communications, and basic online submissions under supervision.
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts, letters, documents, and other records.
- Carry and deliver documents, samples, invoices, cheques, receipts, and small parcels between offices and other locations.
- Visit banks, government offices, courier offices, suppliers, clients, warehouses, and other business locations as instructed.
- Collect signatures, documents, receipts, acknowledgements, and other required paperwork.
- Follow up on assigned office errands and provide timely status updates to the supervisor.
- Assist in preparing documents and materials required for meetings and official activities.
- Maintain office supplies and inform the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Coordinate with the Hetauda office, Lalitpur office, Kathmandu-based personnel, and other Group entities when required.
- Ensure confidential documents and business information are handled responsibly.
- Maintain a simple daily record/log of outdoor errands, document collections, deliveries, and completed assignments.
- Keep the assigned motorcycle/scooter in proper condition when used for official work and follow all traffic and safety regulations.
- Perform other administrative and operational duties assigned by the management.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Strong computer knowledge is mandatory.
- Good working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is mandatory.
- Ability to use email, internet, printing, scanning, photocopying, and basic office software.
- Valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory.
- Candidate must be capable of riding a motorcycle or scooter confidently and safely in Kathmandu Valley.
- Good knowledge of Lalitpur and Kathmandu routes is preferred.
- Good communication skills in Nepali; basic English communication is preferred.
- Good organizational skills and ability to maintain documents and records accurately.
- Ability to complete multiple assignments within deadlines.
- Honest, punctual, responsible, and trustworthy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding company documents and information.
- Ability to work independently while following instructions from supervisors.
- Minimum +2 or equivalent education preferred.
- Previous experience in an office assistant, computer operator, messenger, runner, administrative assistant, or similar position will be an advantage.
Preferred Computer Skills
Candidates with experience in the following will be preferred:
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- Google Sheets
- Internet browsing and online forms
- PDF handling
- Printing and scanning
- Basic document formatting
- Basic data entry
- WhatsApp and digital communication
- Basic knowledge of accounting/ERP software is an advantage
Key Candidate Profile
Jamadar Group is looking for a young, energetic, responsible, computer-literate and trustworthy individual who can handle both desk-based computer work and outdoor office assignments.
The ideal candidate should not be limited to a traditional runner role. He/she should be capable of sitting in the office and completing computer and administrative work when there are no outdoor assignments, while also being ready to travel around Kathmandu Valley whenever required.
