Role Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure compliance with statutory and internal financial requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to a mission-driven organization.
Responsibilities:
- Outline the day-to-day and ad-hoc tasks for this role
- Primarily working within the corporate NetSuite system, manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records. Some additional work will be carried out in the corporate Google suite environment utilising functional shared Googlesheets etc
- Process vendor and employee payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements
- Calculate, deduct, deposit, and file TDS and other applicable taxes in compliance with statutory requirements
- Prepare and file VAT returns and ensure timely tax compliance
- Process monthly payroll and maintain payroll-related records
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals
- Perform bank, vendor, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely closing
- Assist in preparing audit documentation
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and compliance reviews
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable tax laws
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Provide support on ad hoc finance and accounting projects as required
Must-have skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2-4 years of accounting experience (preferably in a corporate environment)
- Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Strong understanding of VAT, TDS, payroll processing, and Nepalese tax regulations
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
