Job Description

Job Title: Senior QA Automation Engineer

Location: Nepal

Reports To: Service Delivery Manager/QA Team Lead

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer who will take ownership of designing and building a robust automation framework to systematically automate our current Regression Testing Suite. This role requires a QA professional who can architect scalable, maintainable automated test solutions, define an automation roadmap, and drive our regression testing from a largely manual process into a reliable, CI/CD-integrated automated suite.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical and architectural skills with a quality-first mindset, thrives in agile environments, and takes genuine ownership of building automation from the ground up.

Experience

·      Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance.

·      At least 3+ years of experience designing and building test automation frameworks, not just writing individual test scripts.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field.

·      Relevant QA certifications are desirable.

Key Responsibilities

·      Own end-to-end design, architecture, and implementation of a test automation framework to systematically automate our current, largely manual Regression Testing Suite.

·      Assess existing regression test cases and define a prioritized automation roadmap, converting manual test cases into reliable, maintainable automated scripts.

·      Build a scalable, reusable automation framework (e.g. Page Object Model, config-driven test data) integrated into our CI/CD pipeline for continuous execution.

·      Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution, and report automation coverage and progress to stakeholders.

·      Collaborate closely with developers, and coordinate with the Australian team on automation strategy and priorities.

·      Establish automation coding standards and best practices, mentor QA team members in building and maintaining automated tests, and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Required Skills

·      Proven experience designing and building test automation frameworks from the ground up, not just writing individual test scripts.

·      Strong hands-on expertise in at least one modern automation tool (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium), including Page Object Model design and reusable component architecture.

·      Experience in API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.

·      Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), SDLC, and knowledge of SQL and database testing.

·      Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git).

·      Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Azure DevOps.

·      Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence automation strategy across the team.

Preferred Skills

·      Experience in Security Testing using tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or equivalent.

·      Experience in Performance Testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools.

·      Exposure to AI-assisted testing or AI Operations (AIOps) is highly desirable.

  • ·      Experience working in cloud-based environments AWS is an advantage.
