Job Description — Operational Manager, Meshed Nepal

Location: Kathmandu Valley, Nepal · Reports to: Head of Engineering & Support Operations (HQ)


Role Summary

·      The Operational Manager, Meshed Nepal owns the day-to-day running of Meshed's Nepal site — currently scaling to up to 50 people over the next two years. This role is accountable for operational excellence: a clear team structure with defined accountability, consistent reporting rhythms, on-time project tracking and delivery, and a secure, well-run site operating environment, including the buildout of a new gated office premises.


Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day operations

·      Own daily operations of the Nepal site — team coordination, workflow management, and issue escalation

·      Build and maintain a clear organisational structure with defined ownership and accountability across all functions

·      Ensure consistent operating rhythms (standups, reviews, planning cycles) are established and followed

Team leadership & accountability

·      Lead and grow the Nepal team (~50 people at maturity), with clearly accountable pod/function leads reporting in

·      Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for the Nepal team

·      Identify and develop function leads as the team scales

Project & delivery tracking

·      Ensure all active projects and workstreams are tracked, with visible timelines and clear ownership

·      Monitor delivery commitments closely and escalate risks or delays early

·      Maintain a single source of truth for project status that HQ leadership can rely on

Reporting

·      Establish and run a regular reporting cadence to HQ leadership — team capacity, delivery status, risks, and hiring progress

·      Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement

Facilities & security operations

·      Own the site's physical operations — secure premises, badge access, and security compliance controls

·      Own business continuity and disaster recovery planning for the Nepal site

·      Ensure site practices align with the company's information security requirements

Budget & resourcing

·      Manage the Nepal operations budget, including facilities, tooling, and headcount planning

Requirements

·      Minimum 3 years of senior management experience, ideally overseeing a team of 20+ people

·      Sound technical knowledge of IT and technology operations; 3+ years of experience in a software/technology environment is essential

·      Demonstrated experience scaling and running teams with clear accountability structures and reporting rhythms

·      Strong project and operations management discipline — comfortable tracking multiple concurrent workstreams and driving on-time delivery

·      Experience operating in the Nepal market — familiar with local hiring conditions, compliance, and ways of working

·      Familiarity with information security or operational frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001) is an advantage

·      Excellent stakeholder management skills — comfortable reporting to and coordinating with international HQ leadership

·      Based in Nepal (Kathmandu Valley); fluent in English


Success Measures — First 6–12 Months

·      Nepal site organisational structure formalised, with clear accountability and reporting lines across all functions

·      A regular, reliable reporting rhythm established and consistently delivered to HQ leadership

·      All active projects tracked with visible timelines, clear ownership, and on-time delivery

·      New secure premises operational, with documented access control and a business continuity plan
