Job Description

This position is based at the Head Office and requires flexibility to travel as per operational needs. Candidates should apply only if they are comfortable with the travel requirement and meet the role criteria.

The Sr. Specialist will be responsible for managing and growing cross-border logistics operations 

between Nepal, India, and China. The role involves coordinating shipments, maintaining client 

relationships, negotiating with transporters and customs agents, ensuring smooth documentation, 

and identifying new business opportunities to expand cross-border transportation services. 


Key Responsibilities 

1. Operations Management 

  • Coordinate import and export shipments between Nepal, India, and China. 
  • Monitor shipment movement and ensure timely delivery. 
  • Work closely with transporters, customs clearing agents, warehouses, and border offices. 
  • Resolve operational issues related to transit, customs clearance, and delivery delays. 
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade requirements. 


2. Customer Relationship Management 

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding shipment status and operational 
  • updates. 
  • Understand customer requirements and provide logistics solutions. 
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and service-related issues promptly. 
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. 
  • Maintain Recovery Cycle 


3. Business Development 

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in cross-border logistics. 
  • Generate leads and convert prospects into long-term clients. 
  • Prepare quotations 


4. Documentation & Compliance 

  • Verify shipping documents such as: 

-Commercial Invoice 

-Packing List 

-E-Way Bill 

-LR/CN 

-Certificate of Origin 

-Customs Documents 

  • Ensure the accuracy of documentation for smooth border clearance. 
  • Maintain operational records and reports. 


5. Coordination & Vendor Management 

  • Build and maintain relationships with transporters, freight forwarders, customs brokers, 
  • and government authorities. 
  • Negotiate transportation rates and service terms. 
  • Monitor vendor performance and maintain the vendor pool  


6. Reporting & Analysis 

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. 


Skills & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field / MBA preferred. 
  • 4–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or cross-border transportation. 
  • Experience handling India-Nepal or China-Nepal trade operations is preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of cross-border logistics and customs procedures. 
  • Knowledge of Nepal, India, and China trade routes. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously. 
  • Good relationship management and customer service skills. 
  • Knowledge of customs procedures at Birgunj, Bhairahawa, Rasuwagadhi, Tatopani, and major Indian border points. 
  • Familiarity with FTL, PTL, and multimodal transportation. 
  • Ability to communicate in English, Hindi, and Nepali. 
  • Strong commercial and operational mindset.
