Role Description
This is a contract, on-site position based in Kathmandu for a News Reporter. The News Reporter will be responsible for covering breaking news, conducting interviews, writing and editing news stories, and preparing press releases. Job duties include staying informed about current events, verifying facts, and delivering accurate reports in a timely manner while adhering to journalism ethics and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Reporting, News Writing, and Writing
- Proven ability to draft and distribute clear and effective Press Releases
- Background in Journalism with a passion for uncovering and presenting news stories
- Excellent research, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of ethical standards in journalism and accuracy in fact-checking
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven on-site environment
- Prior experience in a newsroom or media environment is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field is preferred
