Location: Bhairahawa, Nepal
Position Summary
The Plant Head will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Bhairahawa manufacturing facility. The role will oversee all aspects of plant operations including production, planning, quality, maintenance, warehouse, safety, administration, and workforce management to ensure the achievement of operational, financial, and strategic objectives.
The Plant Head will drive manufacturing excellence, productivity improvements, cost optimization, quality enhancement, and continuous improvement initiatives while building a high-performance culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are consistently achieved.
- Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and plant resources.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve plant performance and scalability.
Production & Planning
- Oversee production planning and execution to meet market demand and inventory requirements.
- Monitor production schedules and address operational bottlenecks.
- Improve production efficiency, capacity utilization, and throughput.
- Ensure effective coordination between production, procurement, warehouse, and sales teams.
Quality Assurance
- Establish and maintain robust quality systems and processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and product specifications.
- Drive reduction in defects, rework, customer complaints, and product returns.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
Maintenance & Engineering
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance programs are effectively implemented.
- Minimize equipment downtime and improve machine reliability.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and production lines.
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives where applicable.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Ensure optimal inventory levels of raw materials, components, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Improve inventory accuracy and stock control processes.
- Minimize material wastage, losses, and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure efficient warehouse and dispatch operations.
Cost & Performance Management
- Monitor and control manufacturing costs.
- Prepare and manage annual operating budgets for the plant.
- Identify and implement productivity and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Track plant KPIs and drive performance improvements.
Leadership & People Development
- Build and lead a high-performing plant management team.
- Set performance objectives and accountability standards.
- Develop succession plans and employee development programs.
- Foster a culture of ownership, teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, labor, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and statutory obligations.
Reporting & Strategic Initiatives
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Support expansion, modernization, and new product manufacturing projects.
- Participate in strategic planning and long-term capacity development.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
- MBA or Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- 5–10 years of manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in a senior plant leadership role.
- Proven experience managing medium to large-scale manufacturing operations.
- Experience in lighting, electrical products, electronics assembly, consumer goods, plastics, or related industries preferred.
