Job Summary
The Project Auditor is responsible for managing project-based financial planning, budgeting, cost tracking, and bidding support for Animation and VFX projects. This role ensures accurate manday estimation, financial control, and project profitability throughout the lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up projects with appropriate work breakdown structures
- Analyze scripts, storyboards, and project briefs to estimate production effort (mandays)
- Collaborate with producers and department leads to define scope and resources
- Prepare detailed bid breakdowns across departments
- Develop and manage project budgets
- Monitor project expenses (labor, materials, overhead) against approved budgets
- Track and control project expenditures
- Maintain and review the project-related portion of the general ledger
- Maintain detailed project financial records and documentation
- Analyze budget vs. actual performance and report variances
- Support bidding and cost proposal preparation
- Ensure alignment between production schedules and financial plans
- Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Collaborate with finance managers for financial planning and control
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards
- Assist in audits and provide necessary reports
- Assist in financial reporting and profitability analysis

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in project accounting, production finance, or cost estimation
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Animation, VFX, Gaming, or Media production environments
- Familiarity with production pipelines and workflows
- Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., ShotGrid, Jira)
