Position: Head – Supply Chain Management (SCM) – 4W AutomobileDepartment: Supply Chain
Location: Thapathali, Kathmandu
Reports To: DCEO / MD
Role Summary
The Head of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for leading end-to-end supply chain operations for the 4-wheeler automobile business. This role involves strategic coordination with international suppliers (particularly Chinese OEMs and vendors), logistics planning, customs compliance, and cross-functional alignment with internal teams to ensure timely vehicle availability, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- International Vendor Management & Coordination
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Chinese OEMs, suppliers, and vendors.
- Lead commercial and operational coordination including order planning, production tracking, and shipment schedules.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Logistics & Distribution Management
- Develop and implement inbound and outbound logistics strategies to optimize cost, efficiency, and delivery timelines.
- Oversee international freight, warehousing, and domestic distribution operations.
- Monitor logistics performance and implement continuous improvements.
- Customs & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage customs clearance processes including documentation, duties, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to local import regulations and international trade laws.
- Coordinate with clearing agents and government authorities to ensure smooth and timely clearance.
- Cross-functional Coordination (Service & Quality)
- Collaborate with the service and technical teams for vehicle inspection, pre-delivery checks, and quality validation.
- Ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and alignment on product readiness.
- Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the SCM team to achieve operational excellence.
- Define KPIs, monitor performance, and build a high-performance culture within the department.
- Planning & Inventory Management
- Drive demand forecasting, inventory planning, and stock optimization to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure alignment between procurement, logistics, and sales demand.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 8–12+ years of experience in supply chain management within the automobile industry (preferably 4W segment).
- Proven experience in handling international vendors, especially Chinese suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs clearance, and logistics operations.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain tools.
