Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Team Size: 4–5 direct reports

Salary: 100,000- 120,000 per month


About the Company

We are an established financial services institution headquartered in Australia, with a global workforce of approximately 400 employees. As part of our global expansion, we have established an outsourcing finance function in Kathmandu, Nepal, which is currently in a growth phase. The finance team is already in place, with 4–5 team members and operates in close collaboration with the Australian head office and other international locations, following robust financial governance and compliance standards.


Role Overview

The Senior Finance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting operations for both the Nepal and Australia offices and support the Finance Manager. This role will play a critical part in managing commission structures, financial reporting, compliance, and day-to-day accounting activities, while also building and leading a high-performing finance team in Nepal. The position requires close coordination with the Australian head office to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with cross-border accounting standards.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee end-to-end accounting operations for both Nepal and Australia entities
  • Manage commission calculations, payouts, and reconciliation in line with business and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and head office
  • Ensure accurate bookkeeping, general ledger management, and financial controls
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with Nepal accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Support compliance with Australian accounting practices and reporting standards
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions for both jurisdictions
  • Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of 5–7 members
  • Allocate work, set performance expectations, and ensure timely delivery of outputs
  • Act as the key finance liaison between the Nepal office and the Australian head office
  • Provide finance-related support and insights to senior management and cross-functional teams

Process Improvement & Set-Up

  • Establish finance processes, policies, and systems for the Nepal operation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Support system implementation and integration with Australia-based finance systems


Key Requirements

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or ACCA qualified (Preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in finance and accounting roles
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team (at least 5+ years)
  • Experience handling multi-entity or cross-border accounting is highly desirable
  • Prior exposure to the Australian accounting system and practices is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting, tax, and compliance requirements in Nepal
