Posiiton: Mobile Phlebotomist
Required Number: 1
Location: Maharajgunj
Qualification: NHPC Registered
Experience: At least 1-2 years in related field

Job Description

1. Blood Collection:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques to collect blood samples.

  • Ensure patient identification and labeling of samples to avoid errors.

  • Handle and transport specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols.

2. Patient Interaction:

  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.

  • Record patient information and medical history, if required, prior to collection.

  • Assist in preparing patients for blood collection by identifying veins and choosing appropriate collection sites.

3. Sample Handling:

  • Properly store, label, and prepare blood samples for transport to the laboratory.

  • Ensure samples are correctly labeled and free from contamination or degradation.

4. Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including infection control protocols, and use of protective gear (gloves, face shields, etc.).

  • Maintain sterile conditions and ensure all equipment is sanitized and disposed of correctly.

  • Comply with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations governing blood collection.

5. Administrative Duties:

  • Record and enter patient and sample information into laboratory information systems (LIS) or electronic medical records (EMR).

  • Maintain accurate records of blood collections and report discrepancies.

  • Monitor and manage stock of phlebotomy supplies.

6. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure high-quality service by following lab protocols, minimizing errors, and ensuring patient comfort.

  • Report any issues with equipment or patient reactions to supervisors.

  • Participate in regular training and certification programs to stay current with phlebotomy standards.
