Job Description
The Retail Sales Officer is responsible for achieving sales targets, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining an appealing and well-organized store environment. The role contributes directly to customer satisfaction, repeat business, and overall store profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that meet their needs.
- Promote and upsell products to achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Provide detailed product information, including features, benefits, and usage.
- Handle customer queries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain strong product knowledge to enhance customer interactions.
Store Operations & Stock Management
- Ensure shelves and displays are fully stocked and attractively presented.
- Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Assist in inventory management, including receiving, tagging, and arranging merchandise.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store area at all times.
Cash Handling & Reporting
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for billing and transaction purposes.
- Handle cash, card, and digital transactions responsibly.
- Prepare and submit daily sales reports to the Store or Group Manager.
Visual Merchandising & Branding
- Implement store layout and visual display standards in line with brand guidelines.
- Support promotional campaigns, discount offers, and seasonal sales activities.
- Ensure product displays are aligned with marketing and sales priorities.
Teamwork & Communication
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet store and team targets.
- Communicate effectively with the Store Manager regarding stock requirements and customer trends.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions for skill development.
Job Specification
- Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in retail sales or customer service (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong persuasion and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of computers and POS systems.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Based at assigned retail store(s) within Kathmandu Valley.
- Work hours and shifts as per company policy, including weekends and public holidays.
- Occasional travel for training or sales campaigns.
