MG Consultants (Pvt) Ltd, invites applications from highly qualified professionals for the position of Senior Contract Specialist on the SASEC Highway Enhancement Project in Nepal.
This is a replacement position for an ongoing, high-profile infrastructure project financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The assignment involves the rehabilitation and upgrading of approximately 95 km of highway between Kakarbhitta and Laukahi, comprising three road packages and two bridge packages.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Contract Specialist, located in Colombo. The Senior Contract Specialist will be responsible for managing and negotiating contracts, drafting and reviewing contractual agreements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Daily tasks include conducting contract analysis, addressing contract-related issues, and providing support for contract administration. The specialist will also engage in stakeholder communications and maintain accurate records of contract documents.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following essential requirements:
- Master’s degree in a discipline related to Contract Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 20 years of professional experience in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 15 years in road and/or bridge projects
- Minimum 10 years as a Contract Specialist on major infrastructure projects
- Successful completion of at least 2 ICB highway projects of over 2 years’ duration each
- Successful completion of at least 3 projects of over 1 year’s duration each, with FIDIC Red Book or Pink Book experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Asia & Pacific (excluding home country)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Europe
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the American region
Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of international contract management practices and FIDIC conditions
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
Location: Nepal
Mobilization: Immediate, following client approval (estimated within 1–3 weeks)
