This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for pre-engineered building projects, including material, labor, and equipment requirements. The manager will analyze drawings and specifications, coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams, and ensure accurate pricing and competitive bids. Daily tasks include reviewing vendor quotations, updating cost databases, monitoring budget variances, and providing cost reports and forecasts to leadership. The role also involves improving estimation processes, supporting contract negotiations with data-driven insights, and maintaining compliance with company standards and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis for construction or pre-engineered building projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Experience with MS Excel and relevant estimation or ERP software to prepare and manage cost data.
- Knowledge of construction materials, local market rates, and supply chain practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional certification in estimation or project management is an advantage.
- Previous experience (mid to senior level) in estimation and costing within infrastructure or building projects, preferably in pre-engineered buildings.
- Ability to work on-site in Kathmandu, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
