Role Description
The Destination Head – North America will lead and manage all operations related to student placement and services for North American destinations, primarily the USA and Canada. This full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu involves overseeing counseling teams, developing market strategies, and ensuring high-quality guidance for students interested in North American institutions. The role includes coordinating with international education partners, monitoring application and visa processes, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of admission requirements, compliance, and policy changes. The Destination Head will also be responsible for achieving enrollment targets, conducting training for counselors, organizing information sessions, and providing regular reporting to senior management. Collaboration with marketing, operations, and branch teams is expected to strengthen Grace International's presence and reputation in the North American education segment.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the North America admissions and counseling team
- Set targets, KRAs, KPIs, and performance expectations; monitor performance against agreed goals
- Conduct team meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews
Student Counseling & Recruitment
- Provide expert counseling to students and parents on USA and Canada study options
- Guide students on institutions, programs, eligibility, fees, scholarships, and visa processes
- Monitor the complete student journey from inquiry through enrollment
Admissions & Operational Management
- Oversee the end-to-end USA and Canada admission process
- Supervise application processing, document verification, offer management, and visa documentation
- Monitor turnaround time, pending applications, and conversion rates
Branch Oversight
Coordinate North America admission activities across branches and international offices
Ensure consistent policies, counseling standards, and service quality branch-wide
Business Development & Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with universities, colleges, and institutional partners in the USA and Canada
- Represent the organization at university visits, seminars, and education fairs
- Coordinate with Marketing on destination-specific campaigns and lead-generation initiatives
Reporting & Performance Analytics
- Prepare and present Head Office and branch-wise performance reports
- Ensure accurate, timely updates to CRM/MIS systems
- Analyze performance data to identify trends and growth opportunities
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to annual recruitment planning, budgeting, and destination-specific strategy
- Recommend initiatives based on market trends, student demand, and competitor activity
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising counseling or advisory teams in the international education sector
- Expertise in student counseling, application guidance, and visa process support for North American institutions (USA and Canada)
- Proficiency in stakeholder relationship management, including collaboration with universities, colleges, and regulatory or partner bodies
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly to students, families, and internal teams
- Strategic planning and business development capabilities, including setting targets, analyzing market trends, and implementing growth initiatives
- Organizational and analytical skills for managing multiple cases, tracking outcomes, and ensuring accuracy in documentation
- Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in international education, migration services, or a related field; North America–focused experience is highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Education, Management, Business, International Relations); a master's degree is an advantage
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, on-site office environment in Kathmandu, with flexibility to attend events and meetings as required
