About the RoleIncessant Rain Studios is looking for a talented Concept Artist with strong traditional art fundamentals and a passion for visual storytelling.
The ideal candidate can translate ideas, scripts, and references into compelling concepts for characters, environments, props, and cinematic worlds, while adapting to different visual styles and project requirements.
Responsibilities• Develop concept art, sketches, and visual explorations for characters, environments, props, and scenes.
• Explore composition, lighting, color, mood, and visual style to establish project direction.
• Develop character concepts with a strong understanding of anatomy, proportions, poses, expressions, and costume.
• Design environments and props with a solid understanding of perspective, scale, and visual storytelling.
• Work closely with Art Directors, Directors, and Animation/VFX/3D teams to ensure concepts are production-ready.
• Refine artwork based on creative feedback and maintain consistency across a project.
Requirements• 2+ years of professional experience in Concept Art, Illustration, Animation, VFX, Film, Games, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in drawing, painting, anatomy, perspective, composition, color theory, and lighting.
• Excellent observational and imaginative drawing skills.
• Ability to work across different artistic styles and visual directions.
• Strong visual storytelling and ideation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a production environment.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating traditional art and concept development is essential.
Preferred Skills• Proficiency in Photoshop, Procreate, Krita, or similar digital tools.
• Familiarity with Blender, Maya, ZBrush, or other 3D tools is a plus.
• Experience in animation, VFX, film, or entertainment production.
