The Lead Software Engineer - Frappe Framework is responsible for leading the design, development, customization, integration, deployment, and support of enterprise applications built on the Frappe Framework The role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, solution architecture, project delivery, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions and successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities'
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of Frappe Framework applications.
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Define coding standards, development guidelines, and engineering best practices.
- Conduct architecture, technical design, and code reviews.
- Identify technical risks, technical debt, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and customize Frappe applications and ERPNext modules.
- Design DocTypes, Workflows, Permissions, Scripts, Reports, Print Formats, Dashboards, and REST APIs.
- Build reusable components and business logic for enterprise applications.
- Optimize application and database performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to software engineers.
- Allocate technical tasks and monitor development progress.
- Support developers in debugging and solution design.
- Conduct technical interviews and support recruitment.
- Organize technical knowledge-sharing and mentoring sessions.
- Promote code quality, collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA, DevOps, and customers.
- Participate in technical requirement analysis, solution design, estimation, and planning.
- Identify technical risks and dependencies and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support UAT, production deployment, go-live, and post-production activities.
- Ensure projects meet technical, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Design and develop integrations between Frappe/ERPNext and external enterprise systems.
- Build integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and scheduled data synchronization.
- Work with banking, financial, payment, government, DMS, HRMS, and other enterprise systems.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and auditable data exchange between systems.
- Manage and support deployments using Frappe Bench, Git, Docker, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support development, staging, and production environments.
- Monitor application health, background jobs, queues, logs, and system performance.
- Support cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and production support.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, secure development practices, and SDLC processes.
- Enforce peer review and pull request processes.
- Promote automated testing and CI/CD practices where applicable.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture guidelines, and deployment procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6–8+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Frappe Framework and ERPNext.
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams or technical delivery teams.
- Strong experience in enterprise application development and ERP implementations.
- Experience designing custom Frappe applications and ERPNext solutions.
- Experience integrating ERP systems with third-party applications and enterprise systems.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Frappe Framework and ERPNext.
- Experience with MariaDB and/or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and system integrations.
- Experience with Git, Frappe Bench, Linux, Docker, Redis, and Nginx.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, application security, and production support.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
- Enterprise ERPNext implementations.
- Banking, financial services, fintech, lending, or payment system integrations.
- Core Banking System, Digital Lending, Loan Management, DMS, HRMS, or government system integrations.
