Job Description

Computer Vision Developer

We are looking for a computer vision developer to build a camera-based garment position and measurement system for a printing application.

Project Overview

A fixed camera will be installed directly above the printer slab. When a sweater is placed on the slab, the camera should:

1. Detect the sweater placed on the printer slab.

2. Identify the outer boundaries of the sweater.

3. Measure the sweater’s position relative to the fixed printer slab.

4. Calculate the margins between the sweater and the slab boundaries.

5. Generate X and Y coordinates that represent the starting position of the sweater.

6. Export the calculated measurements and coordinates into an Excel file.

Expected Excel Output

The Excel file should include:

• Left margin

• Right margin

• Top margin

• Bottom margin

• Starting X coordinate

• Starting Y coordinate

• Sweater width

• Sweater height

• Date and time of measurement

Technical Requirements

The developer should have experience with:

• Python

• OpenCV or similar computer vision technology

• Object detection and image processing

• Camera calibration

• Pixel-to-real-world measurement conversion

• Coordinate calculation

• Excel file generation

• Working with fixed cameras and fixed measurement surfaces

Important Conditions

• The camera position will remain fixed.

• The printer slab dimensions and position will remain fixed.

• The sweater position may change each time it is placed on the slab.

• The system must calculate measurements accurately and consistently.

• The measurements should preferably be provided in millimetres or centimetres.

Expected Deliverable

A working prototype that detects the sweater, calculates its margins and X/Y starting coordinates, and automatically saves the results in an Excel file.
