Role Description The Commi II – Bakery role at Vasista Hospitality is a full-time hybrid position based in Mechinagar Municipality, with some flexibility for work from home where operationally feasible. The role involves assisting in daily bakery production, including preparing doughs, batters, and fillings, baking bread, pastries, and desserts according to standard recipes, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation. The Commi II – Bakery supports senior chefs in recipe execution, stock rotation, and mise en place, while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness. The person in this role will help with portioning, plating, and packaging baked goods for service and events, and may contribute ideas for new bakery items under guidance. Regular coordination with the wider kitchen team is expected to ensure timely production and smooth service.
Qualifications
- Foundational bakery skills, including basic bread, pastry, and dessert preparation, with the ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen sanitation practices, with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities to handle prep work, production schedules, and multiple tasks during peak hours.
- Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with chefs and other kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques, accept feedback, and support continuous improvement in bakery operations.
- Prior experience in a professional bakery or hotel kitchen is preferred; formal culinary or bakery certification is an advantage.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, handle kitchen equipment safely, and follow all health and safety guidelines.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
