True Root Financial is a fee-only fiduciary wealth management firm based in San Francisco, California. We help successful technology professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs make smart decisions around investing, taxes, equity compensation, retirement, and long-term wealth planning.


We are seeking a highly capable Wealth Management Operations Lead to become a key member of our team.


This is a long-term career opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, accountability, problem-solving, client service, and continuous learning.


This is not an entry-level position and is not an administrative assistant role. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of important responsibilities, improve processes, solve problems independently, and become a trusted partner to the founder.


The Opportunity

Initially, this role will focus on client service, operations, onboarding, and workflow management.

Over time, the role will expand into:

  • Financial planning support
  • Client meeting preparation
  • Prospect analysis and proposal preparation
  • Investment presentation preparation
  • Process improvement and documentation
  • Business operations
  • Project management

The right candidate will eventually become one of the most important members of the firm.


Responsibilities Client Service & Operations

  • Manage client onboarding and account opening processes
  • Coordinate account transfers and paperwork
  • Track and follow up on outstanding client requests
  • Coordinate with custodians and service providers
  • Maintain CRM records and client data
  • Ensure operational tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Create and improve operational workflows


Financial Planning Support

  • Organize client financial information and documents
  • Assist in preparing financial planning deliverables
  • Prepare client meeting materials and review books
  • Support investment and portfolio reporting
  • Prepare follow-up action items after meetings


Prospect & Business Support

  • Assist with proposal preparation
  • Create prospect presentations and meeting materials
  • Support business development initiatives
  • Track prospect follow-up activities
  • Help improve internal systems and processes


Required Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of professional experience in operations, client service, customer success, project management, account management, onboarding, or a related role
  • Experience working with U.S. or other international clients
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable internet connection and dedicated workspace
