MBUST operates under strong principles of integrity and meritocracy, explicitly rejecting corruption, nepotism, favoritism, and discrimination, and benefits from high institutional autonomy to grow as a world-class university.Role Description The AIoT and Robotics Researcher will conduct applied and theoretical research in robotics, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things systems to address real-world problems aligned with MBUST’s mission. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing robotic and automation solutions, developing AI models, integrating sensors and IoT devices, running experiments, analyzing data, and documenting research outcomes for publication. The role involves close collaboration with faculty, students, and external partners, contributing to project proposals, guiding student projects, and supporting technology transfer and prototype development through the university’s incubation initiatives. The researcher will also participate in seminars, workshops, and multidisciplinary teams to advance MBUST’s research agenda and secure external funding. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Bāgmatī, Nepal, with a mix of on-campus laboratory work and some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Robotics and Automation for designing, prototyping, and testing intelligent systems.
- Candidates should possess solid Research skills, including experimental design, data analysis, scientific writing, and publication.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Deep Learning and Computer Vision for perception, decision-making, and pattern recognition in robotic systems.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of AIoT concepts, including embedded systems, IoT architectures, and networked intelligent devices.
- Relevant qualifications include a master’s or doctoral degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, AI, or a closely related field.
- Additional beneficial skills include programming experience (e.g., Python, C/C++, ROS), familiarity with machine learning frameworks, and hands-on work with sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, mentor students, and communicate research findings clearly in English and Nepali is advantageous.
