Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Social Safeguard Manager at Ratmate, Nuwakot, Nepal. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with social safeguard requirements throughout project planning and execution in accordance with client requirements, and IFC Performance Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation
• Prepare and/or support the preparation of the Construction Environmental and Social Health & Safety Management Plan (CESHSMP) and related sub-plans in accordance with IFC Performance Standards, and client requirements.
• Ensure all project documentation complies with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Site Execution
• Develop and implement social safeguard policies and procedures in line with client requirements.
• Conduct social impact assessments and prepare Social Management Plans.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social safeguard measures throughout project implementation.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including consultations with affected communities, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare regular reports on social safeguard performance and compliance.
• Deliver training and awareness programs for project staff and contractors on social safeguard requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sociology, Social Science, Environmental Science, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Experience in social safeguard implementation for infrastructure, hydropower, road, transmission line, or similar projects.
• Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESF, or other international safeguard frameworks.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, grievance management, and community consultation.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work at project sites.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
